The Blessings We Happen to Get

For years we have wanted a trampoline, but my hubby and I never could plop down the money for such a "luxury" item. Money that could be spent on one of these "toys" could more easily be spent on groceries, amongst other things.

We had recently contemplated whether or not we should save up for one, but we have needs that so easily take away that money, it's hard to justify it.

So, our friend moved last weekend and asked us if we wanted her trampoline. Without jumping up and down in excitement, I answered yes very calmly and told my family.

Last week, my hubby and my brother picked it up on a trailer and brought it into our backyard and the children have been excited and exhausted at best.

The Lord is cool that way with us. When I was a kid, my grandma once told me that if you ask, you will receive. I knew that that didn't mean that God was some "cosmic genie", but I have noticed that when things that bring us immense joy, they arrive on our doorstep. Take this trampoline, for example. Money or groceries, at other times. A book that I have wanted for so long will become available at a Goodwill for a quarter; many things like that.

The Lord will give and take away what He wants to, but I sure appreciate this moment of fun.
