4H

Today the house has been in such a buzz! Tomorrow is judging for the non-animal exhibits for the county fair. This may sound simple, but wow, it's just made the kids so excited.

Child #1 is old enough to be involved in entering things and so him and I have been busy putting the finishing touches and all that we have decided to have him put into it.

There's the birdhouse that he made a few weeks ago, there's a lego creation that looks like an office with cool landscaping, there's the first aid kit, the awesome pencil drawing of an eagle and then there's the soy muffins.

He and his friend went to work tonight on making carrot soy muffins. The recipe calls for soy oil and tofu and so that makes it into a soy recipe and in our 4H club, if you make a soy recipe and place a ribbon, you get $15 dollars. To a young boy, that's a lot of money, and also, he'll split it with his friend if he wins. Cool, huh??

Kids make this journey so interesting. When I was in 4H, I never did anything, but that's because I don't think that my parents knew to show me what to do. I have had a lot of people explain to me what my kid needs to do, and so it's show time.... tomorrow!!
